• Trading of AUS origin coal products (thermal and met coals), targeting to mainly
North Asian markets (J/K/T and China) and SEA (Vietnam)
• Blend cargos of NEWC SCoTA Spec, 5800/5700 NAR and 5400 NAR offering to JPU and Korean Gencos (ex Gladstone)
• Expanding coal blending at PWCS and other major ports (DBCT, PKCT)

• Marketing and trading business of Mitsui’s AUS equity coal (met coal and thermal coal) and 3rd party coal. Execute coal sales, handle commercial issues, ensure quality of communication and relationship.
• Source coal from non-equity met and thermal coal suppliers in line with Mitsui’s strategy and lead discussions with Australian coal shippers.
• Develop new business opportunities in trading and investment across non-coal industries such as petroleum coke, fly ash, wood pellets, scrap, slag.
• Coal blending at Newcastle and Gladstone ports for opening new opportunities with competitive prices and avoiding channel issues.
o Over 1Mt of thermal coal and met coal blending at PWCS and RG Tanna for JPU, Korea, SEA
• Major achievements: mora than 70 business deals in offshore coal trading and 50 deals in scrap trading for markets of Singapore, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and India.
o Over 8Mt of coal business transactions for offshore markets (Vietnam, India, Taiwan, China, and Korea) with 3rd party’s coal and 3 years term contract with major JGI customers

• Manage and Trade current portfolio products (Petrochemicals and Fertilizers)
o Portfolio of petrochemical products: PVC, natural rubber, synthetic rubber, MDI, latex, phosphate rock, PA, carbon black
o Sales revenue: Year 2017 (U$ 29M), Year 2018 (Target: U$ 30M) o Managing shipping/transportation for the trade
o Account management, developing price formation and analysis

• Networking with Australian coal and iron ore industry stakeholders to expand the business and manage the procurement contracts
o Managing the contracts and logistics (shipping/transportation)
• Spot cargo purchasing (mainly in metallurgical coal, steel scrap)
• Sourcing new sustainable suppliers of iron ore, coal
• Developing raw materials special reports for procurement strategy and analyse information in a timely and detailed manner to produce insightful commentaries
• Planning and managing research into Australian coal and iron ore industry to develop market forecasts, and predict trends based on research data
o Engaging coal and iron ore suppliers and traders to build up the relationship and finding good opportunities in procurement and investment
o Due diligence/evaluation on the coal/iron ore projects for the investment

This position involves detailed analysis of trade and economic forecasts, trends and actualities, assessed daily, to provide comprehensive reports, assessments and summaries to assist decision-making on key aspects of trade between Australia and South Korea, and especially to facilitate access to the Australian and South Korean market for exporters and importers from both countries.
• Demonstrate effectiveness in all aspects of the role, as one of a team of researchers in the Trade and Economic Division responsible for the following:
o Planning and managing research into the Australian economy across a broad spectrum of market and industry sectors
o Preparing daily reports and summaries of the major developments in Australian trade and economic sectors
o Providing qualified economic analysis and policy advice on Australian and global economic and environmental developments
o Developing weekly reports and forecasts of Australian trade and economic trends

• Mainly in charge of Australian coal products (thermal and met coals) for J/K/T,
India, and SEA markets (Vietnam and Thailand)
• Developing of other commodities - Met coke, Coke breeze, Anthracite coal into SEA, Latin America, and EU
• Established coal blending at Gladstone port after 2-3 months process with final approval from GPC
