As a software engineer, I developed dashboards for a cosplay live-streaming application to track transactions within the web app (Angular, TypeScript, MySQL).
Managed a team of 7 engineers and did sprint planning with clients. I was the communication bridge between Japanese engineers, Japanese product managers and English-speaking engineers.
In a SaaS web application, as the number of users grew, a database deadlock issue began slowing down the performance of the application. I proposed changing the default queue driver to something simple and managed (Amazon SQS) and helped build out the architecture.
Saved the client several thousands of dollars a month by switching unused servers to EC2 on-demand instances, reducing the amount of backups we took from 24 to 12.
