As the plant manager, I am fully responsible for the whole operation at Prai site, which consists of formalin plant, liquid resin plant and powder resin plant.
Roles & Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership towards achievement of Company's mission, strategy, goals and objectives with active participation in the strategic alignment of the Prai site.
· Managing operational performance of the Prai site, which comprises of Production, Engineering, Warehouse & Logistics, EHS, QA, Admin.
· Plan and direct the Plant’s activities to achieve agreed targets and standards for financial and operation performance, quality, culture and legislative adherence.
· Set and manage key performance indicators for all direct reports.
· Ensure plant’s machinery & equipment are installed and operated according to regulatory & company’s guidelines.
· Formulate strategic and tactical plans in the area of operation management and engineering.
· Initiate, implement and monitor cost reduction, waste reduction, and process & quality improvement programs in the plant.
· Develop & deliver operational budget. Raise investment proposals for CAPEX projects in the plant.
· Represent the Prai Plant to deal with governmental matters and trade body matters.
· Review and implement manufacturing process for new products or modified formulations / manufacturing method.
· Negotiate with the union representatives for the union’s Collective Agreement.
· Chair the monthly EHS meeting and HOD meeting. Champion the EHS initiatives in the plant.
· Ensure successful implementation and maintenance of ISO9001 quality management system and FAMI-QS feed safety management system in the plant.
· Conduct annual training needs analysis and annual performance appraisal for the managers and key plant personnel.
Key Achievements:
· Built & Lead committed team (recruited and coached Production Manager, Engineering Manager, EHS manager, Head of QA). The core team is attached together cohesively until now.
· Increased plant total output by 12% (2017) & 30% (2018).
· Reduced off-spec products by > 20%

· Reduced overall downtime from ~6.6% to 4.8% through proactive maintenance practices (Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Managing spare part inventory, Upgrading skills (training) of technicians, Providing SOP / work instructions / guidelines on maintenance jobs, etc.
· Lead plant to achieve FAMI-QS & GMP certification (Mar’2022) for the manufacturing of feed specialty ingredients.
· Reduced overall off-specification by 41%, from 0.99% to 0.58% (2021).

As the Plant Manager, it is my responsibility to ensure that both the PVC resin production plant and the PVC compound plant operate at the optimum level.
