Leads a team of 2 engineers and 20 technicians that keep machines up and running and operate to equipment and production specifications. Actively measures and analyzes machine up-time and overall equipment efficiency. Initiate, lead and executes improvement projects that reduces cost of equipment ownership and equipment performance. Responsible for new equipment purchases , installation and buy-off. Supports qualification in close cooperation with engineering.
Selected Accomplishments:
• Oven Monitoring System implementation at Overmold area in 2016, prevent excursion of uncured silicone causing USD38.2K (BM-49 case) scrap. Incorporate auto email notification from OMS triggering. Project completed in 2017.
• TOWA Predictive Maintenance to prevent excursion in term of offset and tighten the control to +/-50 micron, bleeding in Overmold, yield loss improvement from 0.84% to 0.45% by Oct’ 2017.
• TOWA ECO mode to reduce power consumption, to improve Overmold yield, to reduce vacuum pump maintenance cost, project completed in 2017, total savings of USD200K/year in 2018.
• Equipment Parts and Services cost savings and achieved savings of USD15.4K in 2018 for changing supplier of machine spare parts which is sold by OEM to OPM(Original partsmanufacturer). • Heller ECO mode to reduce non utilized consumption of N2 gas in Heller Reflow Ovens, total savings of USD100K/year in 2018. • MIB plant wide implementation, implementation of MIB in Overmold area as Pilot line and proliferation to all areas in Lumileds P2, to prevent excursion and reduce plantwide CONQ, project completed in 2019.
• OS item cost reduction. Release film usage reduction by changing to fine pitch indexing sensor flag to reduce release film indexing length, total savings of USD84K/year in 2019.
• Initiate, lead and execute cost savings on TOWA Compression Molding machine impairment parts cannibalization, total cost prevention of USD140k in 2020.
• Panasonic Plasma machines base plate and L shape bracket tool life extension of changing every 2 weeks to 4 weeks, total savings of USD4k/ year in 2020.
• Lux C offset yield loss reduction of 2.6% by fabricating 0.8mm loader stopper to enable firm pusher pin alignment when there is material variances in tile thickness. Project completed in 2021.
• Perform analysis using Microsoft Power BI dashboard on Equipment Engineering expenses which includes repairing cost, maintenance cost and service cost. Get quarterly RoFo (rollingforecast) from finance, justify September 2021 RoFo to be USD6.4mil vs January 2021 RoFo of USD5.4mil.
• AOP (Annual Operating Plan) justification for Equipment Engineering Group 2022 budget of USD7.1mil, break down by cost center according to 2021 actual expense and forecast budget for 2022.
• Champion in Equipment Engineering Group 2022 cost savings initiatives and achieved USD1.4 million savings by implementing different approaches such as parts cost down (sourcing,repair, refurbish), design improvement (increased tool life, design for elimination, parts material selection), MTBF improvement (predictive maintenance, life extension), strategic planning (shutdown of excess tools, PM extension program). Utilization of Power BI tools for spending data analysis, live financial report, inventory view, maintenance cost insight (spending category).
