• Analyze import data and business opportunities to sell flat and long steel products in the Chilean market (HR, CR, GI/GL, PPGI/PPGL, Pipes, Bars, Beams, etc.).
• Maintain and develop accounts of steel buyers.
• Enlarge Steel and Metal trading sales.
• Visit Chinese and Korean steel mills in order to develop new reliable suppliers in Chile.
• Arrange meetings and visits with buyers on a weekly basis.
• Handle inquiries of steel buyers by directly contacting the company’s headquarters.
• Negotiate and close contracts by means of email and/or phone.
• Follow up current orders/shipments from the moment of departure to arrival.
• Handle shipping documents and check with buyers if the complete set is correct.
• Provide efficient after-sales service in order to maintain long term relationships with clients.
• Prepare reports so HQ can also create strategies to expand the company’s business participation.
• Analyze import data in order to develop other and new items/areas such as Mining, Natural Resources, Defense and Electronics.
Achievements
• Re-established business relationship with key buyers who had stopped buying from the company.
• Expanded the company’s array of items in Chile by developing and selling other products: tubes, pipes and flat bars.
• Increased the sales records of HRP in Chile surpassing the company’s records of Argentinian, Peruvian and Colombian branches.
