I am employed by the Getrag (Jiangxi) Transmission Company, as a Specialist engineer located in the Product Development.
As Technical specialist I am supporting all product platforms: Manual Transmission (MT), Automated Transmissions (AMT), Dual Clutch (DC) System and Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) and Electric-Drive.
As Functional Safety Manager I am responsible for:
Establishment of Functional Safety (FUSI) section and giving inhouse training and coaching.
Development of training program for Functional Safety representatives in the various sections for the Product development team and ensuring inhouse processes comply to the requirements of ISO 26262.
Conducting Hazard analysis allocation of ASIL levels and identifying safety functions and safety design requirements and establish validation requirements (Vehicle Safety Testing) to ensure compliance to customer related safety goals.
As specialist for Functional Safety Manager if have experience in the analysis automated transmission systems such as DCT and AMT, and the coordination of development, verification and validation activities to ensure the design comply to all the requirements of ISO26262. Support cover Functional Safety activities; Safety Plan, HARA, Safety Goals, Functional Safety Concept, HW/SW Safety design requirements, Functional Safety Test Specification and Reporting, and Safety Case.
As System Development Specialist I am responsible for:
In a specialist role I review and develop the System Requirements as defined between GJT and the Customer, for completeness and risk assurance that all requirements are attainable within the development capability of the organization. Within the review work packages are compiled for each engineering section to design, analyse and verify, KPIs to ensure the System Design is attained.
As specialist I support identification and confirmation of known and new failure modes based on the outcome for product testing. I lead 8D reviews and ensure update of the FMEA to ensure the monitor or avoidance of future failure mode occurrences. Ensuring that Design Guidelines are updated with new best practice and lessons learned based on the experience utilizing current design standards, analysis methods and testing.
In a specialist role I also support development activities of new and modified products.
New development activities done or in process are:
New low cost Dual Clutch Transmission, with safety requirement rating up to ASILC.
New E-Drive 4WD development. Development of control logic requirements to ensure safe and durable function of the E-Drive system including E-motor, Invertor as well as Transmission hardware development.
New E-Clutch integration development for previous manual transmission systems to comply to ASIL B safety requirements.
New Hybrid Drive development as an advanced engineering project.
FMEA Specialist
As FMEA Specialist I am responsible for the establishment of a new System and Design FMEA Section consisting out of FMEA Moderators to facilitate System and Design FMEA sessions.
As FMEA Specialist I acted as FMEA moderator as well as System Specialist to lead development of FMEAs for legacy type transmission with limited basis of design. Following a requirements analysis methodology, I was able to elicit and develop all relevant requirements for the customer, the system, subsystems and components and process stakeholders. The requirements in combination legacy designs were then reverse engineered to develop suitable FMEAs to support future customer application development activities are optimized for low as possible risk.
As FMEA Moderator I am the expert for the FMEA methodology, evaluation approach and tool. I prepare and invite and facilitate the FMEA sessions, together with the FMEA Owner and FMEA Team. As moderator I am not responsible for the content of risks contained in a FMEA. And ideally, I have no stake in the related product/process and should maintain neutrality.
My responsibilities to the FMEA Methodology are:
In charge for the methodology in creating FMEAs. Development and review of suitable FMEA process, to interface with the product development and manufacturing processes and ensuring that all product/process potential risks can be identified and mitigated in a timely manner.
Cares for correct application of the FMEA approach incl. the latest evaluation scheme (e.g. rating tables) in the FMEA sessions, in accordance with latest stipulations of AIAG/VDA.
Trains colleagues (team members) within the company
Ensures continuity between projects in terms of methodology
Lessons Learned/ Know How Management of FMEA related topics
Creation and maintenance of standard libraries for more efficient use of knowledge base over time
Creation, evaluation and optimization of FMEA landscape (tools, processes and methods)
Implementation of new applications or methods in FMEA science
